Reno Travel Guide

Reno, known as "The Biggest Little City in the World", is famous for its casinos, and is the birthplace of the gaming corporation Harrah's Entertainment. Before the late 1950s, Reno was the gambling capital of the United States.

Reno covers an area of 69.3 sq. miles (179.6 sq. Km) and is estimated to have a population of 650,000 people being the second-largest city in Nevada and the county seat of Washoe County.

Sierra Safari ZooThis facility is home to more than 40 species of animals and is now officially the largest zoo in Nevada. Staffed by volunteers and supported by donations, this organization does a marvelous job displaying the animals in their natural habitat. Special tours and field trips are available to provide educational fun for young and old alike.

See lions and Siberian tigers roaming, reptiles slithering, baboons swinging, and parrots and other birds putting on their high-flying antics. If the weather is questionable, call before you visit.
